Americans for Lower Drug Prices — a group founded by former Trump and Obama administration officials to educate the public about why drug costs are rising — said the new law could drive up drug costs, especially in rural areas. 

“We are genuinely concerned about what comes next for the patients this law was intended to protect,” co-founders Michael Glassner and Jason Young said. “The carveouts in the new law, we believe, will offer little practical protection to patients, including veterans, who rely on the same pharmacies as everyone else in the state.”
